Best area to do a bar crawl / pub crawl in nyc?

You can opt for the Village - there are plenty of good places there... The East Village is a little more gritty, West Village is a little more trendy and Greenwich Village is a little more Yuppified and expensive but you can exit the train at West 4th Street, Broadway Lafayette, Bleecker Street or pretty much anywhere downtown and have yourselves a grand old time. Alphabet City has some decent places too. If you'd rather head uptown, there are a few places on 8th Avenue in the West 40's but my favorite place is 3rd Avenue. Hit up the places in the 30's and 40's. Good times.

Whenever I’m down for a bar crawl I use my Trist app that lists all the bars near me. I hate having to ride the subway for 30 minutes just to get to a good time.
