    Speed of train = 36kmph or 10mps

    time for crossing the bridge = 14s

    the length of bridge = 100m

    Let the length of the train be x.

    So the total distance to be travelled = (100+x)m

    Now, speed = distance/ time

    10 = (100+x)/14

    x = 40m

    Length of the train is 40m

  • It takes the train 14 seconds to travel a distance of 100 + x meters, where x is the length of the train

    36 km/hr =>

    36000 m/hr =>

    36000 m/(3600 s) =>

    10 m/s

    14 s * 10 m/s = 140 meters

    140 = 100 + x

    40 = x

    The train is 40 meters long
