What do you guys think if you asked someone what type of music they listen to and they said "Metal" what would your opinion of them be?

I'm assuming you may be asking this question in reference to me, since it was asked earlier and my response was Metal. I could be wrong though..

But anyways! My opinion would be:

"Hey, that's someone I could probably relate to on many levels!"

I'm no different from someone who chooses country as their genre of choice, or pop, etc.

Update: Understood! There are a lot of stereotypes for people who listen to hip-hop as well!

It's just all in good taste to assume otherwise until you get to know someone.

I love the color black, have been thrown around in a mosh pit and am weird but I love my family and animals, am nice if you are nice to me, am Southern and fall in love way too hard! 😊

I wouldn't care, I like a bit of country, classical and jazz yet I don't think i 'follow the stereotype' of the traditional listeners of those genres.

no i wasn't refernceing that to you never saw your question i was just curious bc there are alot of sterotypes for people who like metal

I'd ask them to name some bands they like best.
