You are 100% right. Why not just say I cant do this.

In fact I cant see how she can maintain her job as now she is a convicted criminal, and if we are fair, its a serious sort of criminal offense, not some minor one as her job is about upholding the laws of the land yet she despite many opportunities to change she still to refused to follow an order from a federal court judge.

I think there is method in her madness. I bet she has seen how other people in similar positions received donations from like minded people. She will collect enough cash to not need to work again.

She's likely to be impeached before she gets around to quitting. Maybe the women in jail can talk some sense into her.

Even the anti-gay Heritage Foundation thinks she should quit. When they abandon you then you know you must be going too far even for them.

She gets 80k + bonuses and likely will not be able to get a job with that kind of pay if she resigns. She wants to protest while in the job but not doing it. It would be the decent thing to resign and contest the law. If it changes to your liking then you can try and retake your post. But i suspect that the next election for that post will be one hell of a fight! If the law changes then people will try to oust her to deny her that job.

The christofascists in Liberty Counsel don't want her to quit. They need a martyr to help them raise hate money.
