How safe is a overhead cable to cut ?
A neighbour has allowed a cable from the telephone pole in the street to their own property to fall down and damage plants and fencing in my garden.I have asked them several times to secure it but they have failed to take action.It maybe this a satellite TV cable.How safe would it be to cut the cable itself ?

YOU can cut that cable with insulated handle wire cutters ...... just be sure that you do not want a "" neighbor fence WAR "" when you cut the cable === any cable that is for someone elses property should not be hanging over and crossing your property ..... so, I say chop it off ..... unless ti is connected at next door and just down ... the cable company should fix it and a pleasant conversation [[ if that is possible ]] should bring that matter to the next door person ...... If you do not get along with the neighbor just cut away and continue the WAR ....

As mentioned above, it does depend entirely on what is running through the cable. That said, I'm fairly certain there are videos shown to students in elementary school that talk about the hazards of cables. When in doubt, call the electric company. They're equipped to handle downed electrical wires, live or otherwise. You're not. A garden fence isn't worth your life, mate.
