My doctor told me Medicare won't pay for a flu shot in a regular visit to him. Must come again back just to get it?

I've usually gotten them at a regular Dr. visit, not a special visit. Paid by Medicare.

But you can get them at the pharmacy too, paid by Medicare.

You don't need to see the doc again. You can get the shot at just about any pharmacy and it will be covered the same as if you got it at the doc's office. The shot is available without a doctor's prescription.

He is right. That is a separate appointment but you can get a nurse practitioner to do it at no charge or the flu clinic if they have that.
