    1. you will bleed, often pretty heavy for your first time. And if you see some clumps, it's normal and it's just your uterine lining that is shedding as a part of your menstrual cycle.

    2. you may have cramps, either mild or very painful. Heating pads help with this. as well as Pamprin (it's a menstrual pain medication and also helps with how heavy your period is)

    3. It is probably best to use a pad your first period.

    4. If you're using a tampon, read the instructions well before you attempt to use it. Also, use the smallest one available to start. I used a larger tampon and wasn't used to it and it made me really uncomfortable and it hurt a little. If you use tampons, use panty liners as well and make sure you switch your tampon every 4-8 hours. If you leave it in for too long you can get Toxic Shock Syndrome.

    5. You may get your period and not get it again for another few months.

    6. Each period is different in length and in flow. And it may not be every 28 days that you get your period. It may stay irregular for a long time.

    7. You can actually get your period twice in one month. It usually isn't a big deal

    8. Birth control can help regulate your periods

Those are the basics! Good luck!

Uh...you bleed, you stick a pad on your panties. You change it when it seems bull. You stop bleeding,\ you pull off the pad, and don't put another one on. May hurt in weird places, will be messy, may stop and go again, all normal.

    Pretty much it.
