It's pretty amazing, yeah. I think it deserves the universal acclaim it received. Full scores everywhere... But it's not the GREATEST game. I think its story is pretty lackluster. Not to mention a lot of retconning (though probably not as much as MGS4 lol)... But gameplay-wise, it's REALLY great!
9.5/10 because of the wacky story and the fact that Snake can't swim.

Never heard of it. Is it related to Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes or Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain?
As far as I know, there were the games Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, but there was no Metal Gear 3, let alone a Metal Gear 4 or Metal Gear 5

Metal Gear Solid V is a very good game though it is far from the greatest game ever made. Not even the best game this year in honesty. A solid 8/10.
