Can you still buy shrimp and steaks with food stamps?

    Purchasing both of those items as groceries to be prepared at home yes, purchasing those items already prepared as in a restaurant, no.

    A lawmaker in Missouri introduced legislation earlier this year to ban such items for people in his state receiving food assistance. I haven't heard of any other State or Federal lawmaker introducing anything that bans a food item from assistance programs but that doesn't mean those attempts haven't been made.

    You can buy anything edible with food stamps. I was on them till a year and a half ago.

    Yes, you can. Most folks don't buy such expensive foods, though.
