Do you guys think my idea for a new conduct policy would help clean up the NFL?

It's a Three Strikes policy that applies to all NFL personnel, even the commissioner.

It goes like this

Arrested once: Suspended without pay for 8 games

Arrested twice: Suspended without pay for a season

Arrested a third time: You are out of the league for good

These people are supposed to be PROFESSIONALS, act like it

Bonus Question: Do you think that Pacman Jones has gotten way too many chances?

It depends on what they did. For instance, a player sniffing cocaine is totally different than a player that beats the crap out of someone. I think there needs to be a policy that if there's ever domestic abuse, they should be terminated immediately. If it's something like substance abuse, cheating, or harming another player then I think a three strikes would be appropriate.

Like, I think Suh should be out. He's been a repeat offender on harming others players and his new think is either kicking or stepping on other players "by accident." Or recently with Adam Jones was fined because he took of another player's helmet and slammed his head against it. He's planning to appeal the fine and bluntly said he has no plans on changing his lifestyle!!? People like that need to be dealt with. I think it's bull**** that so many players are still in the NFL, players that have injured others on purpose and they're still there.

In the end, I think Roger Goodell needs to go. He's terrible and it's like the NFL is now a government of it's own. He's like this socialist moron who isn't accountable for his actions or decisions.

Good thinking. I wonder how long it would take Buffalo PD to arrest Tom Brady this Saturday? 1-2 hours? Or are you implying that the league would have to wait until the courts find them actually guilty of the crime? That can take time you know. Anyone that works and gets paid is a professional. To make the math easy, let's assume that NFL players are paid for 16 games/year. "Professional" player leaves bar, has had a bit much to drink, and pisses in the gutter. Cops arrest for public urination. Under this new system, he would be suspended 50% of his yearly wages (8 games out of 16) for the crime. If you work and get paid, do you think it would be fair to be suspended 26 weeks without pay for a similar incident? What if girlfriend and player get into argument...she calls cops accusing him of pushing, threatening her, etc (even though none of it is true). Guess who gets arrested. And guess who loses 8 games of pay.

BQ: My answer is yes. But who is at fault for only dishing out a $35,000 fine? I will admit I'm not familiar with head bashing chapter in the collective bargaining agreement....maybe that is the max penalty.

Arrested once, twice, three times for what, littering, murder, treason?

So what if they're professionals? What about cops who tackle tennis players for their fourth offense? If the current set up abhors you, forget the NFL.

So does that mean we effectively kick the Patriots team altogether out of the NFL?

No, I don't. I'm a professional worker. If I do something that goes against the code of ethics test I passed and signed, I'm out. No second chances. One and done!
