If you communicate directly with anyone who did the interviewing (they call you and tell you that you were not selected for example) just ask them why you were not selected for the position you interviewed for. If this is uncomfortable to say to them, just tell them you would like to know what I need to improve upon for the next time you are interviewed. I have done this when I am not chosen after an interview and it is really helpful if you can learn to improve from their observation. A lot of their decision is what they are specifically looking for of the candidates and attempting to match that need with your skills. Plus there are other factors which you have no way of knowing (are they hiring from within, etc.) leaving you at a disadvantage. Talk through your interview with a managerial person who can give you appropriate feedback.

Competition for full time jobs is really high right now and there are highly educated, experienced and talented applicants out there. It sounds like you are qualified and have what they are looking for but in most instances they only have one opening and take the one they fee is best suited for their position.
