Question for Bartenders?
What is an Alabama Slammer? I m studying drinks and This is a drink I was always confused on. Is it a shot or a drink? Some sites say shot other say drink? Some don t use orange juice and some do so what exactly is in it? My bar book says 1/2 oz soco 1/2 oz amaretto and 1/2 oz gin then dash of lemon jucie (making it a shot I suppose not a drink)

It's a drink. 3/4 of of both amaretto and southern comfort and 1oz of sloe gin, all put into a collins glass with ice and topped with orange juice.

a shot is 1 ojunce!! look at yhour shot glasses! 2 ounces is 1/4 cup of liquid so is a drink!
