How can the 'internet unresponsive' be reversed on a laptop?

This could either be a problem with your internet provider or with the computer. Initially try connecting the laptop to a different free wifi spot such as Starbucks or McDonald's and see if you can connect. If the problem is definitely with the laptop, right click on the network icon in the bottom right corner and choose troubleshoot and see if it can fix it, update your post with more information with make, model and operating system if needed
