Auto accident work no insurance?

My friend had gotten into a minor car accident and didn t have insurance. My friend was at fault, neither car was badly damaged, it was very minimal. What s worse is the "insurance" paper that he handed to police was fake. Made by some person he knows. The driver of the other car is trying to get money for the damage. What s the best course of action for my friend to do? If police dig enough they ll find it s fake. I think he should contact the driver and settle it amongst themselves, whatever the cost is to fix the damage comes out of my friends pocket. Is that the best option? I know my friends a dummy no need to say so in your answer

Pay up and shut up. Hope the cops don't check.

If the other driver decides to put the accident through their own insurance company then someone is going to look at the bogus insurance paper, and find out it's fake. Then they are in a HEAP of deep doody

Whether the cops find out or not doesn't really matter. The best option is the only option: Your friend is going to pay for all the damage, and that's that.

The only what-if here is what he'll be charged with. Will it be driving without valid insurance, or driving without valid insurance plus providing false evidence to law enforcement? Only time will tell, because the cops will find out. But no matter what charges he faces, your friend will pay for the damage out of pocket.

I guess your friend also needs to learn one thing: Don't drop the soap.

He either pays, or the other guy will contact this "bogus" insurance company and find out that he does not exist.

Either way, he will be found out for having no insurance and with a police report, he filed a false report of this insurance. The other guy can sue him for the damages and the court could suspend his license, (until) he pays for the damages.

You are correct. he should contact the other driver and pay. One way or the other, your friend must pay for damage repair. It is up to him how he wants to do this. He can do it the correct way or he can take a chance at being heavily fined. Besides, He will likely be cited for insurance fraud no matter how he pays for damage repair. You friend is a moron for thinking he could use a fake insurance card He must not be too bright.

If he gave a fake insurance paper to the police, he's in trouble no matter what he and the other driver decide about paying for damages.

He needs to pay the other person for his damages and if he does that the police and DMV will not be notified of the forgery. It was a stupid thing to do!!!!! If it is reported to the police or DMV he may lose his drivers license and license plates and be accessed a large fine.
