Is the Great Wall of China a wall or a fence?

    The wall for years was for the purpose of stopping the horsemen military from their North, including the Mongols and Jurchens.

    There are sections that there are watch towers on the top of wall and the defenders can walk on the wall. The wall is strong, tall, and thick.

    You don't call it "Great Fence of China", correct?
