I know exactly how you feel as I feel the same way. Like I'm imprisoned in a small town and nothing I say or do will make it better. Those who don't know or understand will say "No, it's not the city, it's you." But that's not always true. I am fully confident that your life will get better if you can find a way to just pack up and leave. If you have money, then I suggest getting out of there, before you become so stuck and angry that you may do something you'll regret forever. At the very least, consider taking a trip out of town (or the country) Chances are, you'll feel much better once you return. Perhaps you'll feel motivated to change things about you and your life, then leave on better terms.

There is nothing wrong with leaving. If I could, I'd never live in the same city for more than five years. We only get to live once, so why spend your entire life living in one location? Too many people to see, too many places to go.

Young man sees old man sitting by city gate. What are the people here like? he asks. What are they like where you are from? the old guy replies.

Kind, thoughtful, friendly, says the youngster. They're much the same here says the old man.

A while later, another man asks the same question. What are the people here like? The old guy asks again- What are they like where you're from?

Mean, selfish, unkind- says the man. Much the same here- is the answer he is given.

Perhaps... travel to different cities and maybe live in each for a few days if you can to get a feel for them.

If you do not like where you live, it would be best to move..

Should change things. But if you have emotional ro mental issues, those may not go away.

No, it will not. The problem is with you, not the city.

Not as much as you think it will
