My sister in law can t speak properly?

She cannot use proper grammar at all. She s in kindergarten and she says things like "her Mary" and "him John" "that s him s". None of her other siblings talk like that. Her youngest brother is a little tongue tied sometimes and he s older. His grammar isn t the best either. I m starting to this their mom s neglect is becoming a problem with their speech. How does a child not know how to speak at their age?

The child may have autism it is unfortunate but I am a person in the teenage years with autism although I'm blank autistic which means I function and learn to speak like a normal human being, so I have never had any problems with my speech. But if you are concerned take them to a doctor or a speech therapist that can properly educate them on how to properly use their words. You could also correct them my Mom always corrected me if I said words incorrectly that hardly ever happened though since my vocabulary is extremely advanced also can they hear your voice well? They might be partially death which can be fixed with coclier implants that help the human ear function properly. If you truly care about these children I advise you to get them so help.

Responder Mamie has the best explanation for the child who does not use complete sentences when she speaks. The solution for that is to read to the child, speak to the child, talk to the child. Any thing that you can do at home including playing directly with the child should improve the child's ability to communicate with complete sentences. Good luck.

I experienced something similar with my daughter. I did not understand why my daughter was transposing words and insisted on not properly using hard consonants.

It was funny that I used to have an instructional album when I little kid (made way.before I was born) on ventriloquism. I remembered one of the lessons on substituting letters requiring you to change the shape of your mouth to close letter sounds that you could say without moving your mouth as much. For instance, b becomes v in a word like about and AL becomes oe in a word like oval (ovoe).

Then I got to sit in and observe story time at her school. Her teacher would read the page, translate it to Spanish, then back to english and paraphrase the sentences.

"He says he will walk the dog" became "He say he walk the the dog later"

When I asked the teacher about this, she told me English is very hard.

She also told me her name was Avigal, which I later learned was Abigail.

    She was substituting consonants too.

Source(s): Children have influences from all sorts of sources. Even if no one else, including the other parent won't take the time to correct her, you need to keep on her about her speech. Even if she only speaks correctly around you, at least you know she is capable. It would be a shame to wind up in speech therapy becuase she was taught wrong.

She will grow out of it sooner or later; So will he.

All children learn at their own pace.

You do not have to worry about your nephew and niece at this early stage.

Thank you for caring so much.
