Is it a good move to try to publish in English instead of my original language (Spanish)?
Hi, so I'm an unpublished spanish novelist writing a saga, in Spanish, and I haven't really tried to get publish the first book (The second and third are pure gold, the first one is good too, but anyway).
Anyway, I was thinking that the English markets have a bigger markeability potential, and since this is a fantasy genre book, I think I should try to translate my book to English and try to find an agent (I'm gonna translate it anyway).
What do you think?
PS I fully understand the "If I book is good in X language, it doesn't matter" approach, but I'm talking about markeability and reaching more people, because getting something published in English could work better, I think.

No. At least not as you think.
Publish in your native market and if you get a good hit then you can spread to the English market.

English is the language of business. You don't really have to if you don't want to, but in my opinion, I would. But really it is all up to you.

If you write in English, you will get wider readership. However, writing in Spanish can project your inner self if it is your mother tongue.
