Are obese people the next group to claim discrimination and start suing businesses?
According to current law, you cannot discriminate against people for race, religion and sexual orientation...but you can still not hire the fat person whose appearance and personal habits are disgusting. There is no such thing as "big bone" or "thyroid issues"...they just enjoy the sin of gluttony.
But will they with their majority increasing in the US, try to create laws in their favor??? ie: getting 2 seats on airplanes, becoming stewardesses and all you can restaurant menus without exceptions?

There's already a fat acceptance movement. A push made for people to say and accept them as being beautiful. In a sense they don't want you to be able to say, I don't find her/him attractive because they're fat. Nor do they want you to throw up in your mouth when you see the type of people at Walmart. With the PC police the word has gone from fat to overweight to obese now they want it to be people of size. Some of it has to do with genetics, but it's not like you have no control over it. It's not like you just throw your hands up and start packing on the pounds because it's "genetic". Things that are genetic are diseases like cancer, diabetes, etc, not massive weight gain. Obesity is not a disease.

There are plenty of medical problems that do lead to obesity, and unfortunately many are also exacerbated by it. This creates a vicious cycle where you get a little fat because of a hormonal problem, which increases because you have more fat, which then makes you fatter, and so on and so forth until you're 300 pounds overweight and need a forklift with a cargo net to get out of bed. There are also psychological dependency issues that can lead to over-eating and obesity, just as they can lead to alcoholism and drug addictions.
I'm not saying that it's OK to be obese. It isn't, simply because it's unhealthy and causes a lot of problems for yourself and for society. But over-simplifying the issue to say "just stop stuffing your cake hole" will not help the problem at all.

First off there is such a thing as thyroid issues. You misunderstand what Gluttony is anyway, but that is another issue for another question. Don't worry this probably will be the next group the PC Pandering Police help. See you don't need the law on your side right away, you just need the people on your side. Once people start pandering to you then you can start to force your issue through and then you can start working on changing laws because hey things are already in place so might as well make it official for those that refuse to agree.

There are thyroid issues. I had one. It took a long time of medication before I lost the weight.
There are many reasons why people gain weight, including genetics. Smart businesses hire employees based on their ability to do the job. Fat people have just as much right to work as anyone else, It is a stupid business that hires on the basis of appearance.
All of the scientific research point to the reality that a lot of obesity is not from over eating.
