Do I need to bring in my sweet potato plant from outdoors when the weather turns cold?

    Sweet potatoe vine needs to be brought indoors as it cannot survive frost.

    If you are growing your sweet potatoes in a container, they don't need brought in unless there is a chance of frost or the temperature will drop below 40F. They aren't ready to harvest until the vines start dying, which is at least 80 days from when they were planted. Good luck with your harvest!

    If your growing sweet potatoes it will be time to harvest them. They don't last forever. I dig them up and give them to my brother, I only grow for foliage, he likes eating them, it works out well.

    Sweet potatoes are tropical.......so the ornamental in containers, yes. If edible, harvest.
