Why doesn't the Australian government let more Syrian refugees into Australia? Is it to do with money?

They're afraid of the xenophobes not voting for them anymore.

It's down to their COMMON SENSE. And an ability to be choosy about who they do allow into their country. For every one 'refugee' I'd suggest there are most likely half a dozen who are just jumping on some kind of gravy train, they hope. Well done Australia.

because every country has the right to decide its migrant quotas. Mass immigration will - as in Europe - lead to the destabilization of the host country. The migrants won't assimilate & adopt western values and there will be growing resentment from the natives. No one has asked the people of Europe if they are happy with this - just the most vocal.

politicians will be reminded come election day.

If you built a fantastic house with a beautiful garden would you let everyone who turns up simply move in because they don't like their own place?

If you built up a successful business would you employ everyone who wants a job or just those with skills you specifically require?

When you scale down the question it's easier to expain.
