AP English books that aren t boring?
I need to pick a book for my AP class, but it s hard to choose when I m not sure if it ll be good or not. Please suggest a book that is NOT boring. I could barely make it through The Scarlet Letter.
I can't believe people are getting so bent out of shape about Scarlet Letter. Though I liked the characters, I thought it was rather dry. The majority of my class disliked it.. Didn't realize I'd receive so much hate for having an opinion.
Anyway, I'm now trying to decide between Light in August, The Catcher in the Rye, and The Kite Runner.

I have read Catcher in the Rye numerous times, it is slow but I enjoy it. Also, it may not meet AP requirements but The Giver was excellent. Can it be any book? I would read something I know I'll enjoy, Harry Potter, A Song of Fire and Ice, Lord of the Rings.
When I was in AP English I chose to read Wuthering Heights. Depressing, long, boring mistake story-wise. Character-wise it wasn't bad.

How about "My Little Pony Visits the Glue Factory." That's probably dumbed down enough for you. There's a good deal of exciting violence in it, too.
By the way, what the fcuk are you doing in an AP class if you can't even be bothered to read a great novel like the Scarlet Letter? Idiot.
