Question about jewelry insurance.?

Currently I live in New York and my soon to be Fiancee is living in Germany. One, or both of us will be moving within the next few months but for now, the engagement ring I've bought will be primarily worn in Germany. I'm trying to find a jewelry insurance company where this won't be a problem. I want it to be covered no matter where the ring is or where we move. Does anyone have any ideas?

First, ask the place you bought the ring.

I got this by googling "international jewelry insurance" - they advertise "worldwide coverage". You can contact them to make sure they will carry a policy if your home base is Germany:

Make sure you deal with a company that specifically insures jewelry, because if you hinge it on your home or auto policies, you could lose it by having something else invalidate the main policy. It's better to have this stand alone, so you know it's in effect and applies to the conditions under which you are actually living. It would be easy to lose the coverage in a move, or worse, by having some insurance clerk not be clear on the concept.

Insurance is usually regional based except for short trips. Most Home owners policies cover jewerly up to $5000 and you can get endorsement for higher coverage.

Do you have auto insurance? Call that company.
