My teacher saod the suns behind the moon?
If your teacher 'saod' that, then believe it !
It would be really BAD if the sun were in front of the moon !!

During a Solar Eclipse the sun is behind the moon.

Yes, sometimes the moon is between us and the sun.
If it's EXACTLY in between so that it casts a shadow on earth, we call that a "solar eclipse". Perhaps you've heard of those? They're always popular events because they don't occur that often.

When that happens - between 2 and 5 times every year, somewhere on the Earth - that's a solar eclipse... occasionally, it occurs where you happen to be; it can be pretty cool...

Actually, the sun is FARTHER AWAY than the moon. The Moon is 250,000 miles away. the Sun is 93,000,000 miles away.
In one sense, this means that the sun IS "behind" the moon.
