Can anyone tell me the quick way to get past windows 8.1 and back into windows 7?
I had to get a new computer and I gave up on 10 after 2 days on going in circles I was told it's very easy to get to 7 but I have not found the shortcut yet.

For a retired ### engineer you should know how to do these things For instance at least know that your new computer is locked down with mickysoft's uefi secure boot system, if you had a W7 install disk you could not install it, because it don't have the mickysoft W10 secure boot digital signature,
Being that your old employer is a governing member of the Linux Foundation you should know more about Linux OS than you do about mickysoft OS. therefore you should install Linux OS on your mickysoft device You can download the latest October releases from the web link below. if you want to you can message me and I will help you out....

You purchase an original OEM version of Windows 7 - not the upgrade but the complete installation disk - then you put it into your ROM drive, and reboot to the ROM drive to make a fresh install of Windows 7.
