Golf already IS a competitive game. If you play then you know it's far from relaxing. If you're an armchair golfer yeah I can see you relaxing and falling asleep. The drone of Johnny Miller and Dan Hicks puts me out too. Regardless, the Olympic Committee has decided to include golf in the Summer Games next year. Golf had been in the Olympics in the early 1900's.

Why not? I wouldn't describe the Ryder Cup as relaxing or a playoff. Did you see the Players Championship playoff earlier this year between Fowler, Kisner, and Garcia. If that's not described as competitive I don't know what is. So to your question I would say yes. On the social side, golf is very similar to tennis, many people play just to be outside and have fun. On the other hand, there are serious players who are trying as hard as they can to beat the person on the other side of the net.

Any sports can be an activity to have fun with your friend and it also can be a competitive game. IT really depends where you play and whom you play with. If you play basketball at basketball court near your house, it's just for fun. BUT when you play basketball at a university stadium with a bunch of college athletes, it becomes a competitive game. The same for golf. When you play with your friends, it's about as relaxing as it could get. But if you play on the PGA Tour, your name and life depend on it so you must compete as hard as you could. And one more thing, GOLF is not reserved for retired elderly players. It's for anyone...

Go ahead with the competitive thing, but I wouldn't hold my breath for the Olympic dream. They're going to use big-name professionals. Yes, that's not what the Olympics are about... but that's because, in my opinion, golf's inclusion in the Olympics is a long-view money-grab by the "powers that be" in golf disguised as a "grow the game" movement.

Golf is a very popular competition game. As such, it is worthy of consideration for the Olympics.

Play under pressure, keep his confidence in his swing in all circumstances is not innate. Working his mental golf is part of the training.

Good luck if you play it.

Most onlookers reserve the toilets , so elderly players can play it comfortable without them only.
