Man goes in to Fire hydrant, at the Corner of Chancey and Summer Streets, Boston, 1990's.?

Question

A man walked up to a fire hydrant, and sat down on the sidewalk. He then put his legs around the base of the fire hydrant, and removed one of the connector caps. The fire hydrant water was not on, but a little water came out. The man used this water to wet his face and head. 
     He then starts to puts his face into the connector opening. I assumed he was drinking the water. But his face stayed in the connector opening. After a few minutes I noticed he was not moving. It also looked like he was being slowly sucked in to the fire hydrant connector opening. 
     So, just to be on the safe side, I walked away from the window and called 911 on a land line. The dispatched told me that they know all about the man, but there is nothing they can do. That they tried to help this man, but they can't. 
     Then I ended the call and went back to the window to see if he got loose. The man was still there, but now he was further in to the fire hydrant, and his body was now "planked", or parallel with the ground. A woman walk down the street looked at him and started running in horror. 
     I watch in horror as the mans body was slowly sucked in to the fire hydrant completely. Then an arm reached out of the fire hydrant, grabbed the connector cap, and screwed it back on to the fire hydrant from the inside. 
     I wanted to convince myself that what I saw was impossible, and just my imagination, but a man told me he saw it happen too.

If this really happened... IF IT REALLY HAPPENED... Than it's just one more event in what Charles Fort would call the "procession of the damned." Fort wrote several books about all kinds of incidents like this, as did author John A. Keel who told of a huge seven foot tall man who walked into a bathroom in the back of a bar in Argentina and was never seen again. Apparently he flushed himself down the toilet.... We live in a strange and haunted world.

First, if the man was messing with a fire hydrant the police would have come out. The man would have been disturbed to do what you explained, so again...the police would have come out. This sounds like a movie or dream you had and you are confusing it as reality. Unless the man was tiny, he wouldnt have fit into a fire hydrant anyways.

I love how everyone is answering this question only to be an ***, if you don't believe it then why answer at all?
I've seen some weird stuff in my years alive, so I suppose it's possible.

Probably didn't really occur.

But it can be made to appear to occur.

People see alot of things.  One of the things they can do is make us see things.  They'll tap your brain and make you hallucinate.  It can be anything at all to.  Something that looks physical, something of light or ghostly, anything at all really.

Sometimes though things happen where everyone can see together.

Maybe he was possessed and looking for a place to hide. Time travel I guess, I was in a woman's pants that way once .I could'nt find my way back to my youth but I sure tried and hardly found my way back out alive .Very dangerous stuff ....

Sorry but this did not happen, you've dreamed / imagined / hallucinated it. If a man told you he saw it happen he was making stuff up as well.
