Teaching mini donkey to lead?

So I have two mini donkeys, one is a 4 year old whom is about to have a baby. She does great for leading and stuff like that. But along with her we got a 3 year old that is stubborn as a mule (...haha). She's very cute and loving but refuses to lead. The only way she'll "lead" is by following our other donkey. I've tried working with her on it and I practically had to drag her. I've tried treats, which work okay. Do you have any other training methods?

When teaching donkeys or mules you need patience. The long ears are there to tell you to give the animal a long explanation. "Now we are going to walk over to the other side of the arena. Step forward when I pull on the rope. I'm not going to let up, but I'm going to pull until you move one step, and then I'll let go instantly, so you know you've done the right thing. You can see that I'm not looking at you, so I'm not showing my evil predator eyes. I'm really not going to eat you up. Honest!"

    1. Don't look, but face away instead.

    2. Pull steadily until the animal moves.

    3. Release instantly when one foot moves. The release is the reward.

    4. Repeat until good.

    5. Stop the day's lesson when things are going well.

These are my donkeys. The brown one is the one who's pregnant, the spotted one is the one who has leading problems..
