Whats the best way to break up with my boyfriend?

hi ok my boyfriend and i were on and off last year and it was very heat breaking. i was so depressed. he was the first boy i had ever loved and he was also my first boyfriend. he used me, kissed me then ignored me. But i was always the one who had the guts to say lets break up. he says hes matured and that he really wants to give us one last chance. Me being stupid i gave him one last chance, because he really does seem like hes changed. But now i dont even think hes over his ex gf. we are in a secret relationship so we dont communicate AT ALL at school.only eye contact. and maybe we meet once a week or once every two or three weeks ): he says he really wants to make us work but idk what i should do. He dosent seem to be trying. maybe he is maybe he isnt. but i think hes just better with open relationships instead of secret ones. anyways i just dont feel happy or loved anymore. and i feel i at least deserve that. everyone does. How should i break up with him...what should i say? i do love him but im not sure what to say or do.
