Why does my PS4 shuts down?

When I play a game like GTA V or Dark Souls 2 for a few hours my screen looks like its corrupting and flickers white lines across the screen like if it was losing signal and after the screen turns off my ps4 shuts down and won t let me turn it back on for 5 sec. What s causing it?

    Is your system in a well ventilated area were it is able to breathe? Have you cleaned out the vents in the back? It may be overheating.
