Social security card issues. Help please.?

I'm 16 and i live in the state of Pennsylvania so i'm legally allowed to get my permit. The day I left for the DMV, my mom realized that she lost my social security card. I was irritated but there was nothing to do but call and order a new one. We did so and I sent my school ID, birth certificate n other stuff in to them. Once they received it they said my card would come in the mail in 7-10 days. Tomorrow will be 10 business days. I really want it tomorrow because I'm going to my dads and he's going to teach me stick. He thinks I have my permit already and I don't want to disappoint him. Do you know of anything I can do? My mom called and they said it's in the process. Plus, I need my school ID to return my library book. haha.

Good luck, every government issue takes far more time than it should. You should have at least kept a copy of all your records just in case they were lost in the mail.

Maybe your father can find a private road to teach you to shift, so you will not be on state or county roads.

No, there's nothing you can do to speed up the process. I'm a bit surprised you sent them your school ID instead of a copy, however. That kind of thing can get lost. Since you sent that instead of a copy, you've probably slowed them down since they cannot just go through the standard process and send out the card.
