The House voted for impeachment which sends the matter to the Senate for a trial. The Senate found him not guilty, therefore no formal impeachment.

The House impeaches, Which both Andrew Johnson and Clinton dealt with, but the Senate tries the charges. In neither case was the Senate willing to convict and throw out of office.

Impeachment does not mean automatic removal. It is a more similar in concept to indictment, a formal accusation determined as grounds to stand trial.

In this case, the "trial" stage of the impeachment process is held in the Senate (where the "indictment" phase was held in the House). With the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court presiding, arguments were presented before the Senate and the vote to convice split 50/50. With a two-thirds majority needed to convict, the vote resulted in an acquittal.

He wasn't convicted. Being impeached simply means having a trial. You don't need to be a political buff to know that. You simply need to be able to read a dictionary.

It took almost two years to finally process Nixon so impeachment was not seen as viable for Clinton.

the house voted on articles of impeachment. The Senate tried the impeachment but did not find sufficient "high crimes and misdemeanors" to convict him. Thus Clinton wasn't impeached--the Senate found the behaviors of Clinton not to rise to the level of "high crimes and misdemeanors"

Because he did not get convicted. Impeached is basically just an indictment. He was acquitted by the Senate.

An impeachment is just a movement to start a trial. The senate aquited him.
