The Flood was when the Mediteranean Sea broke through a small land bride and poured into a shallow Black Sea . A few people out fishing in their boats were saved .
The writers of the Old Testament wanted to use the existing legends in their history of the Israelite race .
But even though Jesus believed all of the stories in the Bible doesn't diminish his example of how to attain an Eternal Life . You'd be wise to obey all of his sayings so you could go to where he is , instead of hell , where most people end up in .

The flood that inspired the Sumerian and biblical accounts may have been the result of an asteroid striking the Indian Ocean around 3000 BCE. But "Noah" is a myth. No such man ever existed.
