Which gender do you reckon finds talking to the opposite gender most difficult, generally speaking?

I don't think either sex has the monopoly on insecurity. its not easy for anyone to put themselves out there.

Men, because their brains are less wired for language. Women generally have verbal centers on both sides of the brain, but men typically only have those verbal centers on the left hemisphere. This means that when they talk, women have stronger connections between words and memories or feelings, which is also why women speak more words on average than men. This makes it difficult for men because their brains are not as engaged in the discussion.

However if you meant talking to the opposite gender as in approaching them out of romantic interest, than I would say women. Probably for the same reason as above - a stronger connection between words and memories or feelings.

Women like to think it's women and men like to think it is men. There is a certain amount of stress for either gender and I doubt it's much harder for one than the other

Women. I find that maybe 20% of women can talk to a guy they don't know. And also when it comes to friends more women have trouble talking to men. I think a big part of this is the false pretense that women won't talk to a guy because they think it makes them eager; which is simply dumb- if you like someone you don't want them to think you don't like them.

Yes there are guys who can't talk to women but the majority of women can't talk to men.

Definitely men, but that's only because we are always expected to make the first move. Women can just sit back.
