    It depends on what you want to call a language. Speakers of Spanish and speakers of Portuguese can understand each other, but still they are considered separate languages. Language counts in Africa find between 700 and 3,000 languages, depending on how they are counted.

    The Bible has been translated into many languages from the biblical languages of Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek. As of November 2014 the full Bible has been translated into 531 languages, and 2,883 languages have at least some portion of the Bible.

    My dearest.According to the investigation and research,some languages are on the brink of extinction and in some areas accessing to the places are impossible!!But officially,no exact numbers has been released by official trustable sources yet!!Maybe Yahoo or Google,someday release a reliable source hopefully!Thanks dearest for my being far from you!!!Good luck all who help sharing knowledge for good deeds and good will++++!Justice Rights.

    There are roughly 6,500 spoken languages in the world today. However, about 2,000 of those languages have fewer than 1,000 speakers.

    The most popular language in the world is Mandarin Chinese. There are 1,213,000,000 people in the world that speak that language.
