My roots are darker than the rest of my hair?

I've never even dyed my hair but the new growth is growing out darker.

Your root is darker BECAUSE they're new growths and they're HEALTHIER.

The old hair, had been exposed to sunlight, sunburned, chemicals in the pool, etc.

If you cover your hair using a hat or umbrella, they will be protected from the elements, and the root hair to the ends, will remain the same color. Or tuck your hair inside a wide brim hat!

That is totally ordinary, don't stress. My hair is precisely the same as yours and I went to go get it looked at and they said that it's fine. Simply don't utilize Pantene cleanser/conditioner as it's SOOO awful for your hair. It feels great yet it's most certainly not.
