Can the Ps4 play Ps3 games and Ps2 games?
I had a Ps2 and loved it. I got a Ps3 because my little bro got one and I figured it would be cool if we could play and be in separate rooms as we normally just relied on split screen(which few games do now) It was is first console he bought himself & while he was super excited, my enthusiasm for my Ps3 died very quickly. I bought the newest Ps3 I possibly could and dumped $300 on it. I got Portal and demon souls. I loved it until day 50. Non of the Ps3 exclusives interest me and I'm bummed to find out that my Ps3 cannot ever play Ps2 games because stupid reasons. My Ps2 recently died so I can't enjoy the many Ps2 games I did have. I'm thinking about updating my systems again (I still always keep the older ones and every game I ever buy because I'm sediment as hell.) Can the Ps4 play Ps2 games and Ps3 games? I checked online but I get mixed answers from Sony. I want real backwards compatibility not the stupid online synch or other tedious things like that. I don't care if it costs me $1000. If it's backwards compatible to where I mmaybe download one thing and then can pop in whatever disc I want, then I'd be happy has heck! If its not then I'm going xbox one because xbox(while often a pain) seems 10x better than sony has ever been. My 360 lasted so much longer than my Ps3 has (Ps3 has been sent to get fixed dozens of times while the xbox 360 is still strong) The xbox seems to have a couple games more than Ps4, however I would really like to enjoy my old games to if I upgrade
I've seen things about Ps4 supposedly being able to stream my games from previous working consoles but that is not going to work for me. I happen to live in a place where wifi is not the friendliest thing around. Streaming a movie can sometimes take an hour to watch 5 minutes. I'm not going to endure that trying to play a game 5ft from me. It either has to allow me to actually play from the disk itself, give me a digital copy of my game for free, or I'm just not going to deal with it.
I know I can just buy another Ps2 but I'd rather get a console that can play that and new games as well if I'm buying a console. Space is tight with 200sq ft and 4 people sharing it. I can't just keep buying console after console and stack them up in a room that's only 6 ft high, 8ft long, and 4ft wide. Buying a new console just for 2 games is not happening

No, it cannot. There's no way to emulate a ps3, so for the ps4 to be backwards compatible, it would also have to contain the hardware of a ps3. There is hardware to emulate ps2, it was available in early ps3 models, but it used so much electricity, and got so hot, it burned out the console within 2 years, so they removed it.
If you are willing to pay 1000 bucks for a system that can play ps4, ps3, and ps2 games, then you should just buy each specific console. 350 for the ps4, 150 for a ps3, and maybe 40 bucks for a ps2, that's less then 600 bucks.
