    A macaron is like an oreo and a macaroon is a coconut stuff

    a macaron is a cookie made with almond flour.

    a macaroon has no flour at all and is coconut and other ingredients, similar to the filling in an almond joy.

    Despite the similar name they are very different.

    They're the same thing in different languages. Macaron is French.
