Is my new graphics card going to be compatible?

you should be ok,however you need a 500w psu with2 x 6pin pci-express Supplementary Power Connectors ... and the GTX650 only required a 400w psu and 1 x 6pin connector ....

hopefully you would have future proofed your system and already have a 500w ( or better ) psu in place and if this is the case then you will be good to go

there could be bottleneck issues if your processor isn't powerful enough ... however a core i5 or i7 based cpu you should be fine,infact a haswell/skylake core i3 you should be ok but Pentium dual core ( any socket ) and you will see some bottlenecking and the only way to avoid this would be to upgrade your cpu

in terms of performance you will see a significant improvement moving from a GTX650 to a GTX970 ... this is a massive upgrade and its the difference between running fallout 4 at low/medium ( with the GTX650 ) to running it at high with the GTX970

also dsp(dynamic super resolution ) will let you run games at 4k resolution on 1080p monitors .... this is a amazing feature and will also let you set your desktop resolution to 2560x1440 on a 1080p monitor ...
