What is wrong if GPU's temp is high on idle?
its normal temperature on IDLE is 28 C. The other day it hopped up to 59, even when i turn the fan up to 100% it'll prolly go down 2 or 3 degrees. after seeing that, i cleaned both its fans and that did nothing. both fans were spinning just fine, no signs of any kind of interference whatsoever. i shut it down for a day, the next day it was back to normal, 28 degrees. i've been doing emails browsing a bit and now its back up to 59, without any open windows. does anyone know what could be wrong?
i understand the normal temperatures of other GPU's are higher. im just saying this is not normal for mine. its just odd that it did that after 4 years of 28 degrees being its normal temp on idle
i've found the culprit. it was from the GPU driver believe it or not. it loaded a specific process that cause it to spike up. its not the GPU driver itself but its part of the package. still i appreciate the help
i thought this kind of problem could only be hardware related but this time IT WAS SOFTWARE. u live u learn

on idlle normal is 45*C and on load without overclock is 65*C ...with overclock can go from 65*C to 85*C and 90*C is max.... when u start pc is goes from room temp ,26*C or what u have to 45*C if it was akake more than 15minutes and it stopes at 45*C cause he has internal termometer....on load if u see it goes more than 70*C then is a problem...if u overclock it then max is 90*C u should go.....now if idle is more than 45*C then clean ur fans or their termometer is damaged (hapens after like 5 years) then buy new card :D or repair that one with conecting the power of the fan to max power so it will go to max speed fan instead of controlled speed (this u must do with card's wires -hardware)...also try software in msi afterburner at fan speed look if u can set it to max..
