Isn't it strange that while revelling in its creation myth, insisting on anachronistic rights, the US also refuses refuge to those in need?

When you say "creation myth" most Americans will automatically think of Biblical references to how the world was created by god. I see some of your answerers have already made that mistake. They aren't thinking of "creation myth" as in how the country itself was created from immigrants and refugees from other lands. For that you need to be more clear and call it "historical immigration myth".

America really has never been a friendly place for immigrants of any kind -- ever! Canada is usually more welcoming of immigrants than the US is. Earlier generations of immigrants have faced prejudice and bigotry when coming to America, and then once they've been here themselves for a number of generations, they themselves become bigoted and prejudiced towards more recent immigrants.

The U. S. took in more refuges in the last ten years than the rest of the world combined, you dumb fúck.

Stop generalizing America(ns) in black and white. There are over 300 million Americans.

It is not the responsibility of the US to help all refugees. Read the relevant international law.

Are you aware that most Muslim countries refused to take ANY refugees citing terrorism? And don't they have a point?

Would they take us in if positions were reversed?

Why isn't Allah taking care of them?

Why are Muslims leaning on Christians?

Is it bcuz they know it's true?

19 trillion in debt with no way of knowing who these people are? Wasn't one of them involved in the Paris attack? Set up a safe zone in Syria.

No it isn't very strange. The USA contains large numbers of Republicans, what do you expect?

Those in need are a bunch of raghead terrorists. They are murderers and need to go back to the slime pit they slithered out of.

You remind me of a friend who used to always try to convince me that Donald Trump was horrible at business and didn't know what he was doing. (long before his running for president.) Well, this friend had a total financial value of maybe $120 and Donald Trump is a bazillionaire.

Yeah, you can argue, based on your blind belief in the European press that the US is a bunch of bumbling religious fanatics with low IQs. But then you have to get over the fact that they are the most powerful nation in the world and they have been for a long time. How do you explain that?
