Do you think a great trainer guarantees a great boxer?

For instance, Eddie Futch is often regarded as one of, if not, the greatest boxing trainer of all time since he's produced so many world champions and talented fighters. However, many of the greatest boxers have started off their amateur and pro careers with unknown boxing trainers.

Yes. You cant be considered a great trainer per se if you cant produce great boxers. Until then you are just a plain coach. Remember that Roach was an average Joe prior to meeting Pacquaio. Well Pacman became a great fighter and easily one among the greatest of our time. ERGO, you can never deny that Freddie is a great trainer. It's like telling somebody is a great chef. Now let me taste what you got for me, if it taste like ****. No way you're going down as a great cook. Period.
