Why doesn't my suburban pick up speed when i go downhill?

    The gear it is using on a downhill might be such that the engine slows the vehicle down enough that it will not speed up downhill. I'm sure this does not happen on all downhills, as a steeper slope will likely make it speed up. It's normal though, nothing to worry about.

    You are either not in DRIVE and the motor is slowing you down or the brakes are dragging.
