Why do Christians eat pork even though it is mentioned in the holy Bible that it is prohibited and is considered unclean!?

Act 10:9 The next day as Cornelius's messengers were nearing the town, Peter went up on the flat roof to pray. It was about noon,

Act 10:10 and he was hungry. But while a meal was being prepared, he fell into a trance.

Act 10:11 He saw the sky open, and something like a large sheet was let down by its four corners.

Act 10:12 In the sheet were all sorts of animals, reptiles, and birds.

Act 10:13 Then a voice said to him, "Get up, Peter; kill and eat them."

Act 10:14 "No, Lord," Peter declared. "I have never eaten anything that our Jewish laws have declared impure and unclean. [fn]"

Act 10:15 But the voice spoke again: "Do not call something unclean if God has made it clean."

These dietary limitations applied only to those who were under the Mosaic Law, for the statement of Leviticus 11:8 is: “They are unclean for you,” that is, for the Israelites.

With the abrogation of the Law on the basis of the sacrificial death of Christ Jesus, the prohibitions were canceled, and once more all humans could consider themselves under the same broad provision announced to Noah following the Deluge.

Gen. 9:3,4 Every moving animal that is alive may serve as food for you. Just as I gave you the green vegetation, I give them all to you. 4 Only flesh with its life its blood you must not eat.

In order to more easily find converts to their new religion, the early Christians dropped the strict dietary and hygiene laws.

Their justification was that the Old Testament laws were the covenant between God and the descendants of Israel, but the New Law proclaimed by Jesus was open to everyone.

Jesus himself would probably reject that excuse - see Matthew 15:24.

The real question is, why do they cite Leviticus to condemn gay sex when they're ignoring every other commandment in the same book?

Because christians have figured out that pork is now safe to eat because of modern processes for storing and preparing meat. Certain other religions have not become educated in these matters, so they continue to ban pork.

The new and eternal covenant established at the last supper permanently fulfills the old covenant laws - so it's okay to eat pork.

1 Timothy 4

1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

That's another one of God's eternal and objective rules that was changed when it became inconvenient.

Paul noticed that some of his gentile converts were balking at following Jewish dietary laws, so it was claimed that Peter had a convenient revelation saying that the rule was no longer in effect.

Jesus got rid of all the old laws that made enjoying bacon impossible, but he still kept the ones that allows them to bash gays and women. Jesus has a sort of selective fulfillment thing going on.

That same bible says that you should stone your unruly children. Should people follow that rule too?
