How did Coffee get the term 'joe' as one of its American slang names? On the face of it, the name makes no sense and I'm an American.?

    Probably derived from the word Java, from where much of the world's coffee is produced.

    Hmmm, (I have no idea so don't take this seriously) maybe back in the day a dude named Joe died and they made stew out of him and they called it "joe" haha, send help.
