Should I return missed calls?
Even when the caller didn't leave a voicemail or text? Like today I picked up my phone and saw that I got 2 missed calls from my friend. He called at 12 then he tries again 2 hours later. I was busy so I couldn't answer them but he didn't leave a text or voicemail if he is really trying to get a hold of me. Should I still return the call to see what's up? My assumption is if someone I know calls me more than once during the day they must really want something or just want to talk.

Courtesy says that you should return the call. One time could be a misdial, but a second call usually indicates they wanted to speak with you. All you need to do is call back and say, "saw you called, what's up?" If it goes to voicemail leave the same message. No need to explain you were busy unless it becomes part of the conversation.

If he's your friend, by all means call him back and say what's up? I saw you called. Sorry I couldn't take your call at the time.
If it's a number you don't recognize, no, don't call it back.

If he's a friend, why not just call back? Nothing wrong with asking him what's up.

If they don't leave a voicemail or text, then don't call back. If it was really important they would have left a message.
