Why did Obama say the auto industry is booming?

I haven't seen a car lot anywhere flooded with customers

    You can't judge the entire auto industry based on the few car lots you "see" in your town. Plus I don't remember ever seeing a car lot crawling with people at any point in my life. Its not like a grocery store. Plus the US exports a lot of cars. The industry can be booming with only mediocre sales in the US.

    Im not saying Obama is necessarily right, I just think your reasoning is stupid.
