Vegetarians, why is it ok to kill plants but not animals?

Do you have any idea how cruelly farmers treat their crops? Constantly spraying them with chemicals and then cutting them down like they're not even alive... Why is this ok?

Plants don't have a nervous system, thus no pain. Plus humans by nature are frugivors. Cats or a lion are carnivores by nature, so they have an excuse to eat animals.

they argue that plants have no brain or nerves. but plants DO send electrical signals and do respond to pain/stimuli . however plants are not 'sentient' as some veg*ans say. technically they are sentient in a way, it depends on how literal you want to be with the definition of sentient.
