I assume you're a teen. One of the tricks for teens is to get involved in some cause or other, especially a popular cause, like animal rights. This is a very safe cause immune to gender based arguments. Joining something like PETA would introduce you to new people. You'd be asked for your opinion in meetings, and for your help with various tasks. It's not a bad way to meet boys, either.

Sports - join a volleyball team. Volleyball is not very demanding, and even bad amateurs have fun with it.

If there's a drama club in your school, join that. You don't have to act, you could just be staff. Even that's fun, and actors are usually fairly interesting people.

Just keep looking. There are so many things to get involved with, but you must act. No one is going to come to your door and beg to be your friend.

Just talk to everyone, be social, I dont guarantee you will become popular from it, it all depends really

Believe it or not having a good sense of humour is very attractive and most people like to be around funny people.
