How to mentally recover from a car accident?
Got into my first one behind the wheel a few days ago, and im still kinda shaken up. I consider myself a careful driver, I never text and drive (im even weary about changing the radio station). Driving while being impaired is out of the question for me, im not a drinker, never gotten drunk. Just wanna know how to get back on the road with a good healthy mindset
edit: Details: I was making a left turn on a yellow light saw a car coming, waited till that car passed, saw the car behind it coming, at that split second I wasn't 100% sure if that car was stopping or not but all the other cars on the adjacent lanes were stopped so I decided to go and thought I had ample room to make it before the car would hit me, but evidently it was the wrong call at the wrong time. I had my license for over 4 years and driving was pretty much second nature to me

In my line of work I come across people who have mental scars from car accidents. Many times this goes away after a few weeks, or at least dies down. If it persists considering seeing a psychologist.

I wouldn't worry about it. You survived, and that's the main thing.
Don't forget. You are in control of a potential lethal weapon, and not only is your life in the hands of your car, but others too.
Next to not paying attention, the second common reason for crashes are hasty, poorly thought out decisions. If in doubt, wait. Another few minutes added to your driving time ain't gonna kill ya.

It's good to be scared. Drive with an abundance of caution.

Look at it this way...almost every one has an accident at least once. This was yours. Close the book on it now; drive defensively; and get back into the driver's seat so you don't lose your nerve.

Thanks guys, I appreciate your help. I drove already so I don't loose my touch, it was ok for the most part, kinda reminiscent of when I first got my license and every little thing gave a little scare
